Ill start:

The tense, adrenaline pumping moments when you hear someone nearby, you don't know if they've heard you but you know only one of you is leaving.

Mindgames. Getting into a close quarters or midrange firefight with a bunch of cover between you and your adversary, and predicting where they are going, and trying to figure out where they are going to expect you to be. Outmaneuvering your foe in these kinds of situations is satisfying and fun.

Also @Stress, your example is the opposite side of many complaints about this game. Being on the other side of your example is one of the most infuriating ways to die.

Watching enemy loot for you and killing him on his way out of the village. Easiest way to start a game.

Nah, if someone shoots me in the head like that they either deserve to get the kill, or i deserve dying because im doing something im not supposed to do IMO

Waiting for that one guy to finish up looting Primorsk while waiting by the only get-away vehicle with a shotgun on the other hand, that truly is a good way to start the game & an infuriating way to go :D

That feeling of being in the last 10 in solo, with decent gear and a good spot in the circle. serious heart pumping action.

  • Juking gunfire on the 2 seater motorbike, making people miss and give themselves away while I live to fight another day, and then laughing like Skeletor
  • Killing someone in the school with a pistol when they have an assault rifle
  • Killing people as they roll up to my house in a vehicle, before they can get off
  • Murdering a whole squad after they kill a teammate

i almost exclusively play squads, even though i have to do it with randoms +90% of the time, i dont win a ton of games like this, and you often have to play a little too passive for my liking but its most definitively still more fun than playing solos. Duos are generally not my thing, its sort of a wierd "in the middle" kind of thing to me.

The big downside to squads with randoms is that you usually end up with atleast 1 or 2 teammates who have a very different playstyle and it makes it very hard to actually get something done, that is, if they are not outright afk or solojump millitairy for no reason. Did just manage to pull off a win though, half an hour ago or something. Not a very action packed game at all, and my 2 kills were the 2 last guys, flanked them while my team was having a "who will peek first" stare battle.

The best moments in the game for me are...

1. When I shoot some unsuspecting player with a crossbow. I mean, how bad must you feel to get crossbowed to death? LOL Luckily it hasn't happened to me yet... *knocksonwood*

2. When i'm caught separated from my squadmates and down/kill someone and that someone's whole squad comes to kill me... and I kill them all. I usually have to stand up and calm down after those fights.

3. Eating a chicken dinner. No matter how I/we got it. Zero kills or 10 kills... that chicken dinner tastes great!

4. Oh, and the times we camp the bridge for people having to cross... the panic that ensues from some when they realize they're effed. But I hate it when it's my squad that gets caught crossing. You just know there are moments when you're coming up to a bridge and tell yourself or squad that you're about to get effed. LOL

For me, the best moments happen when I get the shakies. Not many games have done that to me. It's usually games with a harsh penatly for failure that force me into an all or nothing gamble.

In PUBG that happens when one of the final circles fucks me and/or the playbook of go-to-tactics is out. When everything boils down to adrenaline-fuled instinct. It's something I seek out in games but seldomly find.

The only two games that have given me the shakes and get the heart racing like mad are PUBG and Arma DayZ. That knowledge knowing you lose everything with one bad misstep adds such an intensity to the game that just isn't replicated in other FPS games. I've had exciting and intense fights in other games, but not to the level of these two games.

When instead of shout Allah Akbar, or playing some god awful music in the plane everyone starts singing the same song.

My favourite moments are when you are in an apartment building and are happily looting away.

Then you hear someone approach the same building, but have no visual. You know that he has heard you but he is unsure that you have heard him. So I carry on looting away, as if I have no idea he is there. I hear him walking slowly, trying to get the drop on me. I carry on running around in the building, looting and making him think he has the upper hand.

You then pick the perfect moment (can depend what you do on the exact situation) and get the kill with the element of surprise.

TLDR: Luring people into thinking they have the upper hand or you have not spotted them and then turning the tables in a moment of rage inducing glory.

I was a huge fan of BR Mod (Still like it more than the game right now) - But this game brings that experience into a more "arcade" shooter which doesn't have so much realism which can sometimes be a problem.

When the red crate lands close and you are the first one there to loot it in "relative" safety.

Landing at the school with an entire hoard of other players/teams with you and being victorious with 5 plus kills, or any time the circle ends in Poly and getting into numerous close quarter fights.

Winning a chicken dinner with a shotgun and 2 bullets left and no idea how i came to this last hot zone where so many people were fighting intensively against each other a few seconds before i arrived there to finish the last one. Feels like the revenge of the looted noob.

There is also this fun feeling of freedom when i'm gas murdered and realise i'm #9 even though i didn't fire a single bullet while my keybinds, fucked up by the qwerty bug, forced me to crouch walk the entire game.

I love looting up, then driving across the map because the circle was on the opposite side of where you landed, reaching the new circle with low health, then being one shot.  Nothing gives me more reward then being a loot simulating pack mule.  The only saving grace to it all is I know that I wouldn't be giving them a 4x, because those rarely show up.

Wish this game had a mode where we landed with the loot of our preference (excluding snipers, 8x/15x scopes, level 3 armor, crate drops) and the circles started immediately. Looting is not the fun part, hunting and being forced to move is.

1 hit shotgun knocks followed by another to kill from medium range. such a satisfying feeling.
