I might experiment with voice attack if it is allowed and use voice commands for healing items.

"Use energy drink" for drinking Redbull

"Use painkillers" for pill popping

Etc etc :)

But to keep on topic ctrl is my prone

Disarm - Num * - Too many situations where I would miss a key and for some reason disarm myself in the middle of a gun fight.

Weapons 1 -> 5 - F1->F5 - When I get into gun fights I always grip my mouse tight so I can get more control over it, and the keys on the side would switch to my pistol or a grenade without fail.

Push to Talk - Tilde

Changed q to grenades

E to loot

Mouse 3 lean left

Mouse 4 lean right

F to change fire mode

Allows for strafing while leaning with the mouse really handy for peeking corners

I remapped the vehicle keys from CTRL+1/2/3/4/5 to just 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Makes it way easier to switch seats when you're panicking. Because doing this replaces the weapon hotkeys, I remapped them to M4, M7, M10, M11, and Middle Click (I love having a 11 button mouse).

Prone was also moved from X to M5 so that I can just mash it with my thumb to quickly hit the deck. Auto run moved from "=" to tilde for speed purposes as well.

Lastly I switched Crouch to Ctrl because that's how I've been doing it for years. I've noticed that remapping crouch to Ctrl changes the way ammo splitting works, you use Alt to do it now, even though I left it as it's default function (free look). Just something I thought you might want to know in case you do the same thing. I hope that eventually the devs will make ammo splitting its own dedicated key.

I moved changing fire modes to my mouse as well as pulling out the pistol.

So far, I've switched the car seats to F1 - F5

The no gun button to - (had issues trying to crouch or prone and hitting the stupid button.)

moved first person view to Enter so it's out the way and similar to arma.

I have a Logitech G13 gaming pad, so I mapped all the "move" buttons to the analog stick. So much easier than keys. Then the main 4 that were "move" are the big ones, interact, reload, freelook, sprint.

Vehicle seats 1-5 are now on F1 - F5

Crouch and prone on mouse thumb buttons.

Q & E leaning are on mouse thumb buttons but I'm not happy with this as hand tension of holding the button ruins my aim.

Fire mode selection on click mouse scroll wheel.

Map is on mouse button ring finger.

I use the mouse left handed, thats why i changed wasd and several other bindings.

WASD > Cursor keys
right CTRL > Crouch
right SHIFT > Run
Windows Options > Walk (rebinded via registry)
right Windows Key > Autorun (rebinded via registry)
NUM 1-5 > Weapons
NUM 7-9 > Heal
NUM 0 > Jump (small bug, no jumping + running possible)
Space > Boost
Enter > Use
Insert > hold Breath
Home > increase Scope
Page up > decrease Scope
Delete > Reload
End > lean left
Page down > lean right

Without, it would be unplayable to me.

Great thread, my first post, as well as mapping the map to mouse thumb button 1 I have inventory on mouse thumb button 2, also assigned vehicle seat 1 ( driver ) to scroll button push, for those times you mean to drive but get in the wrong seat, single click, job done.........................and, on top of all that, I use controls based on the numpad, everything in 1 place :)
