Hello Xbox players, Both Microsoft and PUBG Corp remain committed to delivering the best PUBG console experience possible. Over the next few months of development we trust that you will see meaningful improvements to optimizations, new content additions, compelling reasons to play, and refinements to the overall console experience. These improvements and areas of focus comprise our Spring Xbox PUBG Roadmap. To service our Roadmap, we will be transitioning to a longer 2-3 week cycle in-between patches, with our goal to ensure we are consistently releasing well tested improvements to the current Live version of the game. Spring Xbox Roadmap: Continued performance optimizations: To put it bluntly, we are simply not satisfied with the games current console performance, and especially so during tense moments of onscreen action. We have found some immediate opportunity to increase framerate through changes to Erangel’s building materials, as well as some reduction to in-game foliage composition. Until we are completely satisfied in the quality and reliability of the experience, efforts to optimize performance will be an ongoing hi-priority issue. Here are some of the specific technical areas we have made changes: Optimized game characters and their movements Optimized the number of particle effects that are spawned by vehicles and grenades Optimized object collision complexity Balanced the game work across all CPU cores to reduce streaming hitches when moving UI optimizations: Our goal is that PUBG stands up well when compared to other games in your collection, and this comparison begins the second you boot up the game. HDR and Safe Zone options, the quality of the individual assets, the speed at which they load and how they react to your selection are all things we will improve upon as we move towards creating a premium and higher quality experience. Improve Inventory UX: We receive a ton of feedback around the usability of the title, particularly when it comes to navigating the inventory UI. PUBG is a complicated game to control, and when you factor the risk versus reward of inventory management in high pressure situations, the interface must be intuitive and responsive. We are working towards that goal, and we have some changes coming that we hope will allow players to action the decisions they want to make, faster. Improvements to Console Controller Options: We will be providing additional preset configurations to choose from as well as exposing a wider set of aiming options, providing players more freedom to create a controller experience that feels satisfying and empowering. Improvements to game matchmaking: To support a fair and competitive environment, we plan to further improve matchmaking for Duo and Squad modes. Console Player Reporting Features: We are hoping to streamline reporting by adding in-game tools that will empower players to more quickly submit instances of unsporting behavior (Solo Teaming, Team Killing etc). Updates to Vehicle Penetration: To promote a greater sense of realism, we will be applying bullet penetration to our vehicle system. Our current model can be viewed as a vehicles body having a life bar that must be reduced before the driver can be damaged. When our update is released, players that are skillful with their shots, can pierce vehicle doors and panels, damaging enemy players and ensuring that threat is constant even for those behind the wheel. Game Highlights: We want players to easily capture and share in-game actions of interest, so we have integrated Game Highlights functionality on Xbox. Achievements: We have some great ideas for those players that like an added challenge, and we will be rolling out our achievement criteria as part of our roadmap. Sound: We’re going to continue improvements to audio quality and directional sound. Customization: We will add in-game Player Customization Options, emotes and more. We want to offer a wide range of options for you to customize your character in style. Test server: In advance of major upcoming patch releases, we will be making available to players a separate PUBG Xbox Download client. There, players can participate in our latest content updates before they are moved to “Live”. Miramar is coming to Xbox early spring!!! Thank you, The PUBG Development & Community Team

I've got a dirty little secret that I've got to get off my chest. In about 75% of my solo games, I drop at the very same group of houses... clear them all and tidy them up, closing all doors and not picking up ammo stacks from the random pistols that might be laying about. I usually end up with a pretty nice loadout. Pretty much always an AR (or two) or a sniper. Always a shotty or two to be had. I then go to the top of the stairs in a particular house in this complex and drop the AR, a scope (if I have one), a boost, a first aid kit, my shirt, and three stacks of one bullet of ammo to correspond with the gun I've left. Spread it all out nicely so it looks like spawn items. *But it's not. It's never a spawn. Stuff never shows up in this spot right at the top of the stairs.* And then I wait. And wait. And nearly every time, someone shows up and starts looting this group of houses. They run up my stairs and the first thing they see is this pile of loot. They always seem to open their menu to see the cornucopia of stuff that I've left there. I watch this all go down in plain sight from a corner in the kitchen. I'm never really hidden. I'll wait for about two full seconds, giddy with anticipation as I imagine their developing thoughts as they see the stacks of one bullet, before I unload three or four shotgun blasts into their unsuspecting torso. I usually add one more to their corpse after they've been disposed of. And then... I tea-bag the body for a good 20 seconds. And I laugh. Oh, I laugh. It's a dark, dirty experience. I then record a clip of the whole ordeal and send it to my victim. Sometimes I add splash screens to the video at the end that say "LOLOLOLOL" or "Ooops! SORRY" for effect. Occasionally I loop the 1-2 seconds of actual gunfire over and over and over at the end of the clip, extending the moment in video form. I enjoy it more than a chicken dinner. If I've done this to you, thank you for your participation in my game. It's nothing personal. And I'm sorry... just a little bit. See you on the island.

Players, Today, I finally get to talk to you about our vision and roadmap for 2018. We have come a long way over the past 2 years and have learned so much. We’ve done a lot of planning over the last two months, and today we reveal how we want PUBG to evolve in 2018. We’ve worked hard over the past 2 years to build a good foundation for the most realistic Battle Royale experience out there. This year we plan to build on that foundation and really start to polish our features, squash the remaining bugs and expand the game even further. When we came out of Steam Early Access, we told you that it was just the beginning of our journey. This year we’re committing to a major content delivery cycle every two months, the first of which is planned for this month. Each of these major updates will bring changes to specific systems and/or introduce new content. Smaller updates between the major ones will also continue throughout the year. This year we want to involve our players in the ongoing development of PUBG even more than before, and to aid with this we plan to open an Experimental Test Server so we can get your valuable feedback on our feature/content development cycle sooner and for you to have a real impact on how our game changes and develops going forward. It is also our aim to continually upgrade the game’s aesthetic side, and today we want to share some before/after images showing work the art team has been doing to improve the way houses are rendered in the game. Now onto the Roadmap proper. Please keep in mind that everything below is subject to change, and is still very much a work in progress. With that in mind, let’s get into the specifics! New Content and Gameplay Next month we will be deploying a new, 4x4km island map on our Experimental Test Server for you to try out. It’s a much smaller map and should give you all a much more intense and faster paced Battle Royale experience. It will offer a higher player density and shorter matches and we want to get it into your hands early this time around so we can use your input to make it a great experience for everyone. We’re also ready to begin testing our Emote System. You will be able to check it out on our Test Servers very soon. We’re looking forward to receiving your feedback on this new system and we will continue to expand on the range of emotes available throughout the year. For now, here is a brief preview of some of the work we have been doing on this system. I’ve been working with our amazing game design team to plan some new and interesting Game Modes for PUBG. We’re still early days when it comes to hammering out all the kinks and details, so I’m unfortunately not yet at a place where I can share specifics. We plan to add new vehicles in the first half of the year and want to continue expanding our weapon set and also add new weapon attachments this year. Here is a peek at one of the new weapons coming soon. Another new map that we’re working on is planned to be 8x8km in size. As with the smaller map coming to the Experimental Test Servers, we want to get this into your hands early in its development, so you can help us make the gameplay great on this new map. We’re ready to begin testing Achievements, in-game friends list and squad voice chat in the main menu! We also want to further allow you to customize your character, and both parachute and weapon skins will be added in the future to help with this. We will also be testing limb and vehicle bullet penetration on the test servers later. This will add new depth to our ballistic system, and increase the realism of gameplay. We, of course, will listen closely to your feedback on these new systems, and if you have concerns, please head over to our forums and leave your feedback there. In 2018, we will be looking at overhauling our entire TPP and FPP animation systems to make them smoother and more reactive to the environment. This will include animations for getting inside vehicles and changing seats while in the vehicle. We also want to improve how the character moves to allow our 3D replay to deliver some truly great content. Also on our roadmap is an overhaul for the parachuting system, to make it more responsive and polish the overall look of the animations. We are also working to improve our armed and unarmed melee combat systems. Stability, Optimization, Security We have not forgotten about our core responsibility to our players - to provide a stable, smooth and secure environment for enjoying a great Battle Royale experience. We are continuing our daily work to combat cheaters, improve server stability and further optimize our servers and clients. It is impossible to solve these problems once and for all, but our goal is to continuously improve in this regard. Due to the sensitive nature of this subject and to maximize the impact we can have, I won’t be able to go into specific plans. However, we’re planning to keep you more up-to-date about our efforts as we have major victories to share. Sound In the first half of 2018, we intend to increase the detail of vehicle sounds, which means introducing suspension sounds and more skidding sounds. We also want to work with surfaces that would reflect different weather conditions and add rain sounds to vehicle surfaces. Also in the first half of the year, we’re looking at making the gun sounds more distinctly different depending on POV. In the second half of the year, we plan to change the sound that the player produces while moving so that it corresponds to the equipment they are carrying. We also plan to introduce different breathing sounds when the player is, for example, running, aiming down sight or holding breath. Esports Seriously, we are not there yet, but we will be. Thanks to the amazing feedback coming from the player community and professional scene we believe we’re moving in the right direction. We truly want to build a great foundation for Battle Royale esports, and while we have seen some great events already using our game, we have much work to do, especially with the observing side of things. We believe our 3D replay system is the key to allowing orgs to provide much better coverage of a match. This year we want to further improve the live spectator tool, but also integrate a replay system for spectators to use during live matches. Our data analytics team has been pouring over ranking and player performance data for the past 3 months, and they are now working on improving MMR and the overall ranking system. We have great teams working on these systems, and along with our new Play Data API toolset, we think 2018 will be a great year for us to further strengthen our esport foundation. Custom Games The Custom Game System will itself be further expanded to allow more fine grain control and quality of life features like saving presets. We’re also planning to distribute access to a wider audience of players so that there are more custom games available to join at any given time. We can’t thank you enough for your patience thus far and we will soon share more details with you regarding our successes and future challenges in this regard. Community Developer Support This year we will be introducing the PUBG Developer Portal. Our Developer Portal will introduce the PUBG Developer API, a development blog, and technical notes regarding game updates. The API Service will support developers in the community by providing player and match data around gameplay performance. It will also provide match-level, season-level, and lifetime-level data for developers to create compelling resources for players. Another interesting and useful application of our API will allow esports groups and other third parties to create custom games within PUBG. This will enable esports groups to effectively manage games while minimizing ongoing technical work on the part of PUBG Corp. So that’s it for the 2018 PUBG Roadmap. Please keep in mind that this list of new features and systems is not exhaustive as far as 2018 is concerned. There are other things we plan to introduce that we were not yet ready talk about, so stay tuned! As always, thank you for your tremendous support over the past year! See you in-game, PLAYERUNKNOWN

Long-time lurker here. Fristly, I’ve posted this not to cause a fight or cause chaos, but to have a discussion. Sorry for the long post. I've finally decided to post because I've seen an unfortunate trend on these forums (and in gaming in general). I'm not covering anything particularly new, but I've decided to try to critically look at two things (under one discussion): Why are so many people feeling so entitled? Why are there so many back-seat developers suddenly? I get that we all feel invested in the game because we've bought the game on preview – however, we are consumers not developers. The video games community seems to have adopted the premise that we’re all experts on development, games and running a business. I see posts on the forums saying, “You’ve let us down” and “We’re forgotten about” – where is this entitlement coming from? Yes, you’ve purchased the game and you want your feedback to be heard – well, lucky for you there’s a forum for that! With employees from the dev company actively responding to posts! Communication is King – but stop for a moment and realise something, you’re getting it. There are so many people being heavily critical and demanding on BlueHole, using their experience only as consumers as reference. Let's treat computer games like a piece of software (because fundamentally they are) - why do people think they are qualified to comment on and criticise a development process they have no sight of. In addition, why should we have sight of it? What ever happened to giving feedback and letting them get on with it. Please don't confuse this for me saying that people shouldn't give feedback – they 100% should. It's integral for preview games to progress and be successful. Remember, this is a game preview – essentially beta software. If you’re coming in expecting a perfect product, your expectations are wrong – the game/company isn’t underperforming. Feedback should be focused on features, workflows, etc. - not development practices and employee performance! Leave this to the professionals, because that's what they are. On a personal note, I'm writing this as a Product Manager for a piece of software used by engineers - I've got experience in software development as an ex-programmer and as a Product Manager, but I still don't feel qualified to comment on their development practices. I'm anticipating the updates as much as everyone else is - we should enjoy the preview game for what it is and give our candid feedback for the betterment of the game. Thanks for reading.

Hi, I've spend a stupid amount of time putting together a site that details a winter map concept based on Scandinavia. I call it Nördheim (Nörd means Nerd in Swedish so that's a little inside joke ;). Check out the map here: https://www.pubgwintermap.com/ Here's a short description: Nördheim's snow-covered landscape consists of a contrast between lower elevation areas such as islands, farmland, and woodlands, and higher elevation areas such as mountain slopes, alpine peaks, and steep cliffs. Together these areas create an epic battleground that will put players skill, ingenuity, and decision-making to the test in order to make it out on top in this wintery warzone. Thanks for checking it out! Do you think it would be an interesting setting? Is there any gameplay ideas you like? Let me know!

Hello everyone, Earlier today we deployed an anti-cheat update to improve game security. This update blocks additional cheats and helper programs that alter the graphics or aid in gameplay in some way. We aim to improve and maintain a fair playing field for everyone and will continue our efforts against any programs that give their users an unfair advantage. Programs that are not used to gain an unfair advantage but are indistinguishable from cheats based on their behavior will also be blocked. We are aware that there can be some compatibility issues due to this update and are working towards resolving them. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Wow! So many apologists in this thread. DF isn't exaggerating anything. The performance of PUBG on console is a joke. I mean seriously, they just showed you video proof that the performance is dreadful and you say...."It's not really that bad", ROTFL. If I was part of the Dev Team I would be absolutely embarrassed.

Or it's because I've played on pc with proximity chat. For every funny video on YouTube there are a thousand screaming children, obnoxious music blaring morons, people who talk crap about what they would do to your mum and worst of all groups of people teaming using proximity chat. But hey people who support proximity chat must also support cheating and foul behaviour by your logic...

PUBG in in GP, as such our main priorities are to ensure that the game is optimised and allows for smooth game play, we are not looking at adding additional game content until we are satisfied with that first. We would rather spend longer periods working on the next patch, and providing substantial improvements and fixes, than to push out a rushed weekly update. That being said, we have mentioned that we have an update coming up soon for Xbox which should show some real improvements.

Hello players! We know the last week has been rough. We had problems over the weekend, and our login servers were down today. We’re trying to move faster to solve important problems that negatively impact your experience, but sometimes when you move fast, you break things. This is not an excuse, but rather an attempt to explain why there has been some turbulence over the last week. But we have also seen some great results. In our recent update, PUBG has added a feature that splits the matching pool based on players' ping and players with similar pings end up playing in the same match instance. The results of this addition were positive. Some servers saw more than 30% decrease in network problems, as compared to the pre-update figures, allowing for a more stable and enjoyable network environment. However, this doesn't mean that our work is done. Our team is continuing their efforts to implement further improvements. Despite the ping-based matchmaking, we have seen that some regions are still experiencing a gameplay environment that isn't as enjoyable as it could be. We are looking into various measures that we could use to alleviate the issues players are experiencing in these regions. We’ll let you know when we have more results to share. Please know that when we break things, it’s not because we don’t care. It’s because we care enough to move fast, and take risks that are intended to improve your experience. Thank you so much for the patience and understanding that you give us, especially when we break things. Thank you.

To be fair sniping generally consists of "camping". Wouldn't go as far as to call people that are good at sniping noobs either. You might need to play a bit more to get some experience on how not to get sniped. Adapt and overcome.

This is a perfect example of what we rule to be "non-constructive posting", and it is against our rules. You start out with a post insulting those who use grenade tactics, a perfectly legitimate way to kill other players, and your post content further insults them with nothing more being added to your point. If this had been phrased as the following it could have been a great discussion: We don't expect everyone to like all of the choices other people make in game, or opinions they share on the forum, but we do expect everyone to follow the rules. I want there to be discussion about game balancing, meta, issues, leaderboards, loot, all of it, but I want to make sure they are civilised discussions.

As we've recently stated: We have been gathering in-game information regarding Third Party device usage over the past few months. Although usage of these devices is statistically very low, fair gameplay is core to our experience, and we will be communicating our plan to curb the use of these devices soon.

Hello players, As announced earlier, PUBG will be separating the matching queues based on ping to improve the user experience and increase server stability. This has already been implemented on the live servers, and we would like to provide answers to some potential questions you might have. What exactly is the separation of matching queues based on ping? Players with lower pings will be prioritized during matchmaking. As a result, players with similar pings will be matched together. Can I form a party or play with players in different regions? You can still form a party or play with players from other regions. Separating matching pool will not stop or cause an issue with starting a match. What are the criteria for matchmaking when playing in a team with players from different regions? The team will be matched based on the player with the highest ping in the party, ie, the player with the worst connection. What about random matching for duos and squads? When forming a team with random players, you will be matched with players with similar pings. The following servers are recommended for each region. There may be differences depending on exact physical location or line condition. Region Recommended server China AS, SEA Korea, Japan AS, SEA, KRJP Europe EU, NA, OC, SA, SEA Russia EU, NA Oceania AS, OC, SEA North America, South America NA, SA Southeast Asia AS, SEA Thank you.

PC players, Our test servers are going up this week! We are currently polishing and debugging the test build. We are going to be introducing an in-game friend system, voice chat in main menu and vehicle and limb penetration system. We are going to need your feedback on all the new features, especially the new penetration system, so please join our test servers later this week. Detailed patch notes will be posted in a couple of days. We hope to see you there! EDIT: Further internal testing is required for the vehicle and limb penetration system so we are postponing public testing until a later date.

Are you F*ing kidding me. Your reported a player because he killed you in a way you did not like? Entitlement at it's finest folks.......safe space required......I"ll glady take the warning for that one and probably send a nice fruit basket to the player that killed you.

How long do you usually play for and about how long does it take for you to reach your "peak"? I work throughout the week so I leave PUBG pretty blue-balled until the weekend where I can ravage her for 6 hours+. When I drop into that first game I look and acted like a new born giraffe, tripping over myself like it's a new game. 2 hours later I'm hitting the shots I want, playing smart and not running around like a head-less chicken. But all it takes is that one bad game to turn my peak into a plummet. 4 bad games in a row I quickly turn the Xbox off before I toss it at a damn wall. Rinse and repeat till the stars collapse... or till I finally get caught in the blue, due to lack of oxygen 😱

UPDATE: Despite its effectiveness in blocking cheats, we have decided to roll back our latest live server update.‬‪We will continue to resolve some compatibility issues caused by it. There will be a small patch to download. We apologize for the inconvenience.‬ Players, We released a patch yesterday without going through any maintenance to add some new anti-cheat features. However, we know that some players are having compatibility issues, causing the game to crash or are unable to launch the game. We are doing our best to resolve this issue. With the issue that is related to the game not launching, we are checking for any conflict between anti-cheat solutions and other programs. If you are having a Xenuine related error messages or an issue that is related to the game not starting, please use the following method so that we can further investigate this issue. Go to Start -> Run -> Enter "msinfo32"-> file -> export -> enter a file name and click save. Please upload this file to the following forum thread, we will then forward all files to our development team for investigation. We will not be removing our recent patch in order to keep blocking cheats effectively. For now, if nothing happens after trying to launch the game, please add both tslgame and tslgame_BE to the exception list in your anti-virus software (e.g. Trend Micro Internet Security, Avast). We will try to keep you updated with new solutions to other issues as well. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Some people prefer pc to console and console to pc. If anyone has a genuine disability I don't see any problem with that whatsoever.

I'm afraid you have misunderstood, this isn't about reducing graphical quality, but instead optimising the assets and objects so that they do not use up as many resources when rendering.

There are plenty of moderators, they just like to give me warnings for calling one of the repeat complaint posters a scrub within 5 seconds of me posting it instead of removing the Korean spam posts in a timely manner.

(13th Mar. Update - Additional patch notes are marked with *) Players, With this patch, we are bringing various optimizations to our server and client. We have mitigated lag and stutter instances and alleviated frame drop and lag occurrences happening when players are pushed together, starting from the second half of a match, or in dynamic situations, like intense firefights. This has allowed for a smoother environment to play in, than before. As you are all aware, we were also going to introduce and test our new limb penetration system this month. HOLY SMOKES. Okay, LOVING this new patch so far. Only played one game, but I noticed.... FPS increased and smoothed out (not perfect, but much better) jumping to Pochinki with a half dozen other people. Got into 4 firefights, and every single one was buttery smooth. (All at ranges of 20m or closer) Textures / look different, I think in a good way? Rendering seems quicker. Driving FPS has increased a lot, still not perfect, but it's getting closer. FPS in general has increased and normalized quite a bit. Didn't have any of the FPS plunges where you feel like you're in a slideshow. The game also loaded much quicker than usual and I was placed into a match much quicker. I'm going to jump at Yasnaya, School, and Georgopol next to test the FPS there. EDIT: And those damn Red Zones are MUCH quieter, at least from a distance. Haven't been placed directly in one yet.
