  1. This patch is great....

When it comes to performance, stability, and gun fights, the game feels much much better. Biggest improvement yet.
  2. So Epic Games has recently managed to achieve a steady 60 FPS in Fortnite for the console versions as shown in the videos below. One would think this would be a sign of hope for Battlegrounds especially given both games use the CPU intensive Unreal Engine 4. BUT, as Digital Foundry pointed out, they are very different games at a fundamental level, specifically when it comes to its graphics. Fortine uses a more cartoonish style of graphics while Battlegrounds graphics aim's for a more photo realistic look. Its quite obvious that this is the main reason why they are having a hard time optimizing this game for the consoles. It remains to be seen if PUBG can pull a miracle and get this game running at an acceptable frame rate. They should probably call up Epic Games and take some note's since they have a f#ck ton more experience making games than they do anyway. Just a bit of friendly advice. 3. Bad stuttering on good hardware

My specs are as follows: GTX 1080 Ryzen 5 1600 16GB RAM DDR4 Clean Windows 10 install, freshly updated The game stutters into oblivion every minute. Just fix it already, otherwise the performance isn't bad I'd say.
  4. Just ran through two games to test performance on the Xbox One X.....this patch appears to be a step backwards. - Textures now load in “late” as they do on the Original Xbox One, this didn’t happen to Xbox One X users previous to this patch, especially interior locations. - Performance when inside buildings is between 15 -20 FPS it would appear, very disappointing. On the bright side the “infil” plane drop is now butter snooth, so one step forward, 2 steps back? - Graphics have seen (atleast how they appear to me running an Xbox One X), greatly downgraded in hopes to improve performance, this however does not appear to have fixed anything Performance wise. I can’t tell if the “downgrade” in textures was to accommodate Original Xbox One players, because prior to this patch the Xbox One X was doing just fine I felt. This is rather unsettling news based on how long we have been waiting for this update and while maybe it’s a quick fix, I’m very disappointed with how the Xbox One X is now running thus game, this patch does not look promising.
  5. Hi guys, lets use this thread to simply post your X1X performance once Patch#9 is out, downloaded and you’ve played a few games. This will help a few get an idea of how it should be running or what to expect. cheers 👌🏻
  6. Been playing this game off and on since July 2017. When I started playing, as a programmer, myself, I was appalled when I saw the in-game performance in combination with the overall visual fidelity (not great, even by UR 4), and mechanics regarding shooting and combat. However, I was understanding because the game was in early-access phases, and it seemed, for a time, that the devs were churning out updates that actually improved quality of life aspects of the game. While on Christmas vacation, I was incredibly disappointed to discover that the planned release date of late Dec was actually going to happen. I was disappointed because I knew what state the game was in earlier in that month, before I left my gaming rig for the holidays. Performance was bad, with framerates dipping far below 50% of average, being worse during periods of combat (kinda[sarcasm] important to maintain performance during combat for an fps game). Anywhere with more than a couple sizable map objects resulted in extremely noticeable performance dips. Fortunately, there were some periods of combat, if they occurred far enough in the middle of nowhere, that I did not suffer such dips and drops. However, this mattered little, as the server probably wasn't going to register a sizable portion of my shots, regardless. I will only briefly mention vehicle mechanics, as they are terrible and gameplay-ruining more than an acceptable amount, but I don't think they are on the same level of importance as combat-related mechanics. I wondered why in hell did a company with any number of self-respecting programmers, release such a mess. You had to have been aware of these problems, and if not, that is even more worrisome. Now fast forward nearly 2 months after "release", or as I see it, the second beta stage. The performance problems are slightly improved, but not in a terribly meaningful way, since combat is still massively influenced by wildly fluctuating framerates. The server performance/netcode/hitreg (wtv you wish to call it) issue(s) have had zero noticeable improvement; if anything, they have actually become markedly worse, due to increased traffic across your servers in addition to new game features such as replays and death cam. I am all for replays and death cam functions, but they should not come at such a detrimental price, if they are, as I have read, a factor. I saw data two weeks ago, analyzing server performance from PUBG, along with several other games of similar ilk. I won't mention or compare the other titles, as I don't believe them to be material to my point for this game, but the numbers were embarrassingly poor. An average server-side refresh rate of 20hertz. I thought, wow, that's bad, but when I saw how low the refresh rate troughs were, I had to put my glasses on, because I couldn't believe the value. A minimum server-side update of 500ms, or 2hertz. Two...and this was only from a single dataset, so I wonder if it ever hits 1 or 0hertz (goes an entire second or 1000ms without client-to-server communication). It definitely feels like it, sometimes. It really makes me miss the days of 66 and 100tic servers playing Day of Defeat Source in both casual and professional settings, over a decade ago. Now I understand the difference between 32 and 100 players in a server environment. However, I also understand the advancements in server hardware, and in engine quality. Algorithms are technically more advanced (more efficient) than they were in this industry a decade ago, and server power sure as hell is. This only leaves the question, why would you build a game on an engine that was designed for less than a third of the intended player count per match, if you had such inept software engineers who were seemingly incapable of designing code that executed in a reasonable amount of time? Now, I am obviously assuming the reason behind for this massive failure on your part, and it is likely not the full story, but regardless of the precise reason, this is a betrayal of your customers' trust, particularly when you have made as much money as you have, and done so little to rectify these issues. But hey, look on the bright side, we have a new map (one I actually enjoy, though most of my friends do not) which performs just as bad as the first, as many clothes as we can eat, and a cure for my occasional insomnia, in the form of PUBG esports matches. Note, this is coming from an esports participant at the highest levels of competence in DoD:S and WoT. I saw in the most recent patch that some fences were removed on miramar in order to help optimize the map. Great, what are you going to do in the real problem areas such as pozo, leones, etc? Remove all the buildings and map objects until there is nothing left but the ground mesh? This is not a serious attempt at optimization. Nor is the alteration in how the initial plane drops players. How much good does optimizing the spawn plane achieve, when nobody can even fight until they hit the ground, and the plane is basically out of render range? Are you guys even trying? I would be a lot less aggravated by this sort of crap if you guys were not spending so much time releasing different colored boots and advertising ESL dates or apologizing for server outages on your Twitter. I am frustrated, tired, and annoyed, as I am sure you have gleaned from my text. I am absolutely tired of one developer after another, promising and implying good things in the future, only to show no sincere attempt at actually delivering. These days, it seems all a developer can do is release new garbage "content" for players to spend money on, while allowing the core of their products to rot from the inside out. Show us that you understand these core problems exist, and that you care enough to try to fix them. I speak for many other players of similar mindset when I say, we do not want more clothes before our bullets register more than half the time. We do not want more ESL events before the servers stop constantly going offline and before high-end rigs' framerates quit dipping into the 30's and 40's on a regular basis. I apologize to any players who were inclined to read this, as it is intended mainly for any developers or managers/supervisors at Bluehole that care enough to read it, if any exist. I don't expect for all my points to be perfectly coherent, but I hope my general feeling gets across. I am a patient person. I have in the past, waited 7 years for a game to reach maturity, only to be bitterly disappointed and having regretted every second of it. I have waited nearly seven months for this game to become polished. I remain willing to give more time for this to start happening in a meaningful way, but I will be amazed if I can tolerate more than another month or two. I will not waste that much of my time on a sinking ship, again. Devs, you do some things extraordinarily well. I think you have responded quite well to the horde of unfair players and cheaters, and while you have much more to do, I know you have been doing a reasonably good job at combating that, considering the scale of the problem. Your weapon balance is also very solid, although there are certainly a couple of quirky characteristics with certain weapons (Winchester bullet drop, anyone?). I see some of the impressive things you have done in the game, which only boggles my mind when I don't see that talent being applied to performance issues. I hope this is all taken in the spirit with which it was meant. I am here complaining and providing feedback, because I still care enough to be bothered, and I want to see the game improved. And don't worry, I won't be around complaining forever. Keep on your current course, and I will be back to playing BF1 and other more enjoyable games, before you know it. Cheers for allowing me to vent.
  7. Pausing While Running

Hello, I have been having an issue that started about two weeks ago. Since then or before I had no system changes in hardware or software including driver updates. Yesterday I did update drivers though and the problem still persists. I have a very good internet connection (fiber, second video) and a computer that can run the game just fine. Windows 10 64bit Ryzen 1600 EVGA GTX 1070 16gb 3000 ddr4 ram game and OS installed on SSD Running Malwarebytes but I have checked and it is not interfering with the game. The game will stop me while running, constantly, to the point where the game has become unplayable. (see first video, audio is a little messed up, it didn't sound like that in game) I do not get the rubber banding problem while shooting, driving in the vehicles, parachuting, flying in the place, opening doors, picking up items, or vaulting. The problem ONLY happens while I am running or walking, a lot more while running though. I am perplexed and cannot find a solution. I have reinstalled the game and run steam in administrator still nothing. I have done just about everything under the sun to fix this but no luck. It has to be a problem with the game. Since apparently it isn't a wide spread problem I doubt any developers to take notice of this but I hope they still care about the few that are struggling with these unique problems. Here are the links to the videos... Gameplay - Internet -
  8. Isn't the one x supposed to be the poster child for pubg? Aren't they giving away free copies with a purchase of the one x? After this recent update the FPS makes this game unplayable!
  9. Performance lately :)

I'm not sure if it's only me or it's different for every player regardless of hardware. The game has been running well since today. Also a few times before, with no lag or anything that I've noticed. I hope it'll be very consistent. Thanks!
  10. Hello there, I can't get more than 60 fps while playing pubg. Sometimes between 15-30fps and if lucky between 30-60fps. I've been reading a lot of solutions but none of them worked for me, so I decided to ask help myself. My comptuer specs are the following: Geforce gtx 1060 6gb Intel core i5-4440 3.10GHz 8Gb RAM Also, I've installed the game in a ssd. I have similar fps with low and ultra settings, no big difference. Thank you so much in advance!
  11. Blue Zone to Black Zone

Hey All, I'm by no means a programmer so this could be a dumb idea but what if the map de-rendered and freed up memory as the playable area shrinks? I don't believe it does it now because you can still roam around the blue zone but you still take damage. What if there was a second zone that shrinks at half of the speed as the blue zone. Maybe a "Black Zone" that if you enter you are insta-killed. Everything in the Black Zone could be de-rendered freeing up much needed memory and hopefully increase the frame-rate. It seems like most of the firefights are later in the game and if less of the map was rendered they would be a lot smoother. Any thoughts?
  12. Can barely play the game during match starts since I can't see other players loaded in and the buildings and loot don't appear until 20 to 40 seconds after landing. Getting killed by nothing constantly and have no recourse. Good game and concept but this is making early game content impossible. Best description is every building looks like play do
  13. Input Lag

I love the game it's a great concept and i've been a fan since the day it dropped on steam. My biggest gripe with the xbox version is the input lag. I think it compounds the problems players are having finding the right sensitivity settings, and it makes the game feel sluggish overall. I realize the game is a work in progress, so i wanted to point out that reducing input lag could have the effect of making other aspects of the game just feel better overall. It feels like there is mouse smoothing for people familiar with pc, or triple buffering v-sync. When i stop input on the right stick as my cross-hair reaches my target, the reticle contiunes to move for a few hundred milliseconds (it feels that bad) which causes me to be off target only to make an adjustment and have the same thing happen. It's not that bad if i'm only playing pubg, i get used to it and adapt, but when i play other games and go back to pubg something just feels off. I think input lag may be more of a culprit then anything else (besides fps).
  14. Server Improvement!? :o

So I'm not sure if it's because I'm playing at 4 am which is a first or the new patch update. But I was playing custom games earlier on and it was lagging very bad. But on normal servers when I got on around 4 am, it was surprisingly so smooth. Some small stutters here and there, but it was very impressive for me. Anyone else experienced this?
  15. Is 8 GB ram enough?

Hi, I've got 8 GB ram and experience a lot of stutters, but I'm not sure if it's because of the server or my ram. Some games are fine, no problems, other games are 0-100 awful lag. Stutters just when other players pop up, and the worst time. It stutters in general too sometimes. Other people I know also have 8 GB ram and they barely get any of these problems. I've tried all the fixes online and nothing works. Specs: GTX 960 4GB OC 8GB ram (duh!) i5 4590 3.3 Ghz I'd really appreciate any help, because this lag just ruins the game for me. It has so much potential. Also I've noticed that it just keeps getting worse, I barely got this in the test servers before 1.0 and can't remember getting too much of it in the closed beta as well. Thank you!
  16. Please stabilize the fps in the game! In case of need also with an alternative graphic mode! The frame rate sinks into the cellar during almost every battle, so that victory almost becomes a gambling game. The stick control is still too fuzzy, which makes it even more difficult to target the opponents. In addition, the tick rate of the servers should be increased to make the requests more accurate and make the game suitable for e-sports. That was a declared goal, wasn't it? I know it's a lot of work, but I think it's more important than delivering new content, because I think that the basis has to be right before you can get new content. Thx
  17. Summary When using a controller the performance is visibly degraded compared to using mouse and keyboard. Reproduction steps # Plug a Xbox One control pad into the PC. # Launch the client. # Start a Solo match. # Upon landing walk forward with the controller. # Swap to keyboard # Walk forward with the keyboard. # Observe movement is smoother using the keyboard than the control pad giving the impression of frame rate issues. Expected result Performance should be consistent regardless of control peripheral. Actual result Movement is smoother using the keyboard than the control pad giving the impression of frame rate issues. Notes Also affects aiming. Possibly affects Xbox One platform also. Tested on i5 3570k 16gb RAM R9 390X 8GB Windows 10 64bit Video Settings Low Textures set to Medium. V-Sync enabled. Control settings Default.
  18. EA vs 1.0

Hi everyone, even devs. Why does this game still feel like it's in EA. Are you guys just having a lot of problems that you didn't expect or you just can't deliver a polished game. This doesn't feel like 1.0. I'm still getting stutters, especially during close quarter fights or whenever an enemy pops up. I have to restart the game several times sometimes because it says it is not updated or it just crashes and then the f*cking report also crashes. I don't want to say that we deserve this and I should expect a game that runs properly, but we do, since we paid for it and have been supporting the game and have made it to the biggest game of 2017. For that, I'd say we deserve a game that performs at it's best. At the same time, I have mixed opinions, since I want to be understanding to the development of the game and the many issues that come with it, in terms of fixing bugs, and optimisation. I'm not a game developer, so I don't know how it all works and how hard it can be. With the money you've earned, you need to prioritize what's important, yet I see bloody crates coming in. Yes, it's nice, aesthetically pleasing, but it's not what we want. Just a quick "rant". Fix your game, please. Thank you
  19. Normally, the game runs... alright. Getting anywhere between 40 and 70 fps depending on the location and action - nothing great, but bearable I guess. However, when I get into a close quarters firefight with another player, my framerate tanks horribly, going into single digits and even freezing for a second sometimes, mostly while I'm getting shot at. Here's video illustration of the issue from my live stream. I apologise for the strong language; I was obviously a bit frustrated at that moment. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/217296460 Others have also recorded and reported similar experiences: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsejUreGiew Date Seen:Started along with 1.0 release and has been going on ever since Server: Live; EU & NA Error Message: N/A Other Information: I have seen many mentions of this behaviour, and they seem to converge on high-detail rendering of blood splatters when close up. Cannot confirm anything, though, of course. Troubleshooting Attempted: Updated graphics card driver (to Radeon Software 17.12.1) Installed important Windows updates Tried disabling Death Cam, Replays and both of these features Tried running both in borderless window and fullscreen All to no avail. Launch Options: I normally run the game with no launch options, but during the troubleshooting I have tried these combinations, all to no avail: -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -d3d10 -maxMem=18000 -malloc=system -force-feature-level-11-0 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES System Specifications: Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit SP1 Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition (Pitcairn XT) 2GB CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 RAM: 32GB DDR4-2133 in dual channel Pagefile config: 2048 ~ 16384 MB on HDD + 256 ~ 2048 MB on SSD I use these graphics settings:
  20. Vehicles and loot spawning in very late

These are some examples of vehicles spawning in late on my end (even though my squad can see it) and late loot spawn.
  21. Stop using virtual servers

Stop using virtual servers. Virtual servers are a bad fit for highly latency sensitive applications. This was a bad idea before Meltdown and Spectre, with performance impact of patches for these two issues your game server performance is about to get much worse. Yes, it's easier for PUBG to run virtual servers, point, click, launch. That is the end of the benefit, it is worse for your customers and makes the game play experience horrible. You need to wake up, do this the right way. If you want the community to get behind your loot crate income generator, show us that you give a shit by providing a proper game server environment to maximize enjoyment for us, the consumers. Not one that simplifies things for you, the provider. Customer first is a proven success model, don't keep getting this wrong. You can still get multiple sessions hosted on a single bare metal box, but you need to do that in concurrent running applications and not via virtualization. The overhead of the hyper-visor layer is intolerable and needs to be stopped. Not all applications are well suited to virtualization, FPS game servers are one of these apps not well suited for it. Wish list for servers: Running Linux (custom kernel) so servers can be custom built for maximum performance and stripped of all bloat. Dedicated high end hardware allowing game engine runs on bare metal. Reach out to Dell or HP. I would bet you lunch that you can lease hardware cheaper than you pay for virtual servers now. Dell or HP would likely further lower rates if you had a logo promoting gaming systems in the launch page, win/win. Latency limiters (high ping is a huge advantage, needs to be stopped.) Region Locks (optional, players can elect for region lock or not in main menu) Ability to host game server on my own hardware, allowing customers a private dedicated host if desired for maximum performance. PUBG can still control software load, but a launcher engine should allow customers to run a dedicated host. This saves you money, as more custom servers come up you can run fewer servers There are so many reasons to make change. Please, do the right thing here and provide your customers with the gaming experience we paid for and deserve to get. I for one will not be purchasing crates or keys until the server situation is remedied. I realize one person won't matter, but if enough of us speak with our wallets eventually the voice is heard. Again, please do the right thing here.

The cpu ussage is too much for a game like this, i suggest focusing on the CPU optimization because that will increase the performance with so much! Keep doing what you are doing devs ! Truly yours, TheCocoBG
  23. Here is my post on reddit but I am going to post it one more time. This what you see while playing : https://imgur.com/a/pvxQo This is what is rendering your graphics card but you can't really see it: https://imgur.com/a/xW8uN Couple of more : https://imgur.com/a/wnsKg Also, every house has foundation which we certainly don't need, and don't even see, then why is it on the map ? If you think that is not a big issue, well think about how many houses are there in the map and each and every one has textures. It wouldn't improve very much but it would certainly help.
  24. I suggest making the whole map downloadable. Every piece of detail. This way you can have the rng only affect weapons and ammo and gear. i feel that if we did not have to load the map every game then it would increase the effective frames per second, and prevent a lot of in game lag
  25. Just curious, how big would the download for this map be? Seeing it as a 36 square kilometer map, I feel like if we are able to avoid rending problems if we don’t have to load the map every time but already have it loaded. there is a lot of trash and everything so minor details I understand add up to download size, but if only weapons and ammo and vehicles were randomly generated how much would that change performance?
