Crates are virtual boxes that can be purchased within PUBG and contain cosmetic items which can include clothes, accessories or weapon skins (depending on the crate type) that a character can equip. These items do not impact gameplay and only serve as cosmetic items. How can I get a crate? Go to Rewards – Weekly Crates menu at the game lobby to purchase a crate with your BP. You can buy up to 6 crates per week. The price will increase with each crate you buy. The crate purchase cap will be reset every Thursday at 00:00 UTC. You can buy a paid key at Rewards – My Crates in the main menu. Upon selecting a crate which requires a key to open and selecting open crate, you will be prompted to purchase a key. I got a crate that I don’t want, what can I do? Unlike the items within, a crate cannot be refunded in BP. However, you can use the Steam market to exchange or sell the unwanted crate to another player. Also, you can send the crate as a gift to a friend who just started the game and doesn't have many outfits. In either case, please utilize the Steam marketplace. Is there anything I should keep in mind when trading on Steam marketplace? You can exchange/trade most of the items on Steam marketplace. However, some items may require some time after obtaining them to be able to trade. There are also those that cannot be traded at all. Are crates on sale for limited time only? Crates will be available to purchase indefinitely, without any time limit once added to the live server. Aside from special edition crates sold within a specified limited window, such as the Gamescom Invitational Crate. How do I obtain items from a crate? Select the crate you want from Rewards – My Crates from the main menu and click Open Crate button to obtain an item. You cannot open crates requiring paid keys unless you bought the key. Can I see what cosmetic items are included in the crate? You can see the type of cosmetic items included in the crate by clicking “!” icon on the bottom right of the crate icon. Can male characters wear skirts? All outfits can be worn by both genders in PUBG. How can I get a refund? Crates opened by consuming BP cannot be refunded according to the current policy. You can send a request to the Steam refund page for a refund of paid keys but only when they have not been used yet.
