Does leaving on DVR cause crashes or frame rate issues?

Nope. It was debunked multiple times by multiple different sources. The xbox allocates memory to the DVR that is completely seperate and unused by the rest of the system. I barely crash at the moment, maybe once every week since last patch and I have it on.

Just to add a little more info to this

It was debunked by Xbox, PUBG Corp and an independent researcher Digital Foundry.  In some cases they actually realised it causes slightly (but not really anything significant) more issues if you turned it off.

It doesn’t - now there is a in game menu option to select GAME DVR (Records highlights, tho I noticed it records all deaths and all kills, but is kind of better then having to hit xbox button/record) then you go into recent captures and delete what you don’t need
