Who runs an update in the middle of prime gaming time?

Recommended Posts

For real though. Most people have enough sense to patch during down time, like early in the morning/late at night not between 6-9 in the 4 Timezones the server is spread across.

they don't care about N/A or EU everyone in china is at work or school at the moment, so the update happens now.

This iIS downtime. this is the time when the absolute lowest play counts daily .... so yeah this is the perfect time to update.

The fact that it happens to produce huge amounts of American salt is just a happy bonus.

They need to do this at 3 or 4 am to the North American servers for NORTH FREAKING AMERICA. Why do they do this during peak hours?

Steam doesn't support rolling out updates per region, so it has to be updated worldwide in one go. The time of maintenances is the when pubg has the lowest amount of players worldwide, which unfortunately hits your NA primetime.

this is why you get a bad name globally, because you get told the same thing every time they update, you have been told the same thing multiple times in this thread .. and yet you STILL have to repeatedly ask the same dumb question.

btw you know the test servers .. you know the ones that are already running the patch you want to play ... they are up and running at this time ... and you can play them ..

but its only for non dumb people

That is for the game... but they can do it different times for different servers. That is prime time for N/A servers. Why can they not have redundant servers too? Backk up one set while the other one plays then swap it back? Other games have done this before. Not new ideas here.

LMAO what .. like a test server .. that updates a few days before the live one, and when the live one is down the test one is up and vice versa ..

wow if only life wasn't so complicated breath in, breath out, breath in , breath out ........

Because steam doesnt support that. You can only update the whole game worldwide in one go or not at all

DeadEgg .... Games have been using redundant servers for a long long time to make this issue disappear.

I went ahead and relaxed while watching TV with the wife. An evening without pubg isn't a big deal. You are not entitled to it. The salt is sad. Get over it.

No idea, but haven't been able to connect to servers after the update. Is it fixed for anyone else?

Korean company, no fucks given to north america. Its also why they cant manage their fanbase because they dont understand how the west thinks towards games.

You get how time works right ...

you understand that no matter what time it is, somewhere in the world it is "primetime"

so you update when the player count is at its lowest to impact the fewest numbers of people. its literally the ONLY sensible time on a platform that does not allow for regional rollouts (steam), be grateful that they do it mid week ( when there are even less people effected )

Oh no, 4 hours of no video gaming for north america. What will we ever do? I guess go back to dipping everything in ranch sauce (disclaimer: I love ranch sauce)

Every damn patch release there's one of these friggin posts.

Use the Search function.

Patch times are based on company hours .... so like if something breaks someone is there to fix it.

DI DI DI

BTW, ALL STUDIOS DO THIS
